Vom 02. bis 06. Dezember durfte Michelangelo Int. Travel die jährliche Incentive Reise der Wirtschaftskammer Oberösterreich, der Sektion Bus Luft Schiff, organisiert vom Präsidenten Herrn Josef Weiermair, Geschäftsführer von Weiermair Reisen, bei der Reisorganisation unterstützen.
Die Teilnahme am Incentive ist ausschließlich Unternehmern der Sparte vorbehalten mit dem Ziel, eine Destination kennenzulernen, um sie dementsprechend zu bewerben, aber gleichzeitig dient es auch dem Austausch zwischen den Mitbewerbern und nicht zuletzt natürlich auch dem unbeschwerten Beisammensein.
Von unserem Team waren unser Head of Contract & Product Manager der Region Claudio Peluso und die Marketing & Sales Mitarbeiterin Astrid Schilcher vor Ort, um den 46 Teilnehmern bei Fragen und Informationen für zukünftige Gruppenplanungen für diese Destination zur Verfügung zu stehen und um einen reibungslosen Ablauf zu sorgen.
Nach Ankunft der Gäste am Flughafen von Neapel am späten Vormittag, ging es mit dem Bus und unserem örtlichen Reiseleiter Antonio ins Stadtzentrum zum Mittagessen in ein charakteristisches Restaurant in der Nähe des weltberühmten Theaters San Carlo, wo ein typisches Pastagericht mit Kirschtomaten vom Vesuv und Bauchspeck aus Caserta vor unseren Augen und mit Mithilfe des Präsidenten Herrn Weiermair zubereitet wurde.
Mit vollem Magen folgte eine kurze Altstadtbesichtigung durch die Einkaufspassage Galerie Umberto mit der großen Glaskuppel, vorbei an der Pizzeria, wo die berühmte Pizza Margherita erfunden wurde, zum größten Platz der Stadt Piazza Plebiscito, an dem sich der Königspalast befindet.
Nach diesem Ausflug in die Geschichte der Stadt am Vesuv, ging die Fahrt ins Hotel Antiche Mura im Zentrum von Sorrent. Die authentische Stadt wurde schon von vielen Berühmtheiten als Sommerdomizil gewählt, darunter Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Charles Dickens und viele andere. Ein Abendspaziergang genügt, um zu verstehen, warum sie sich an diesem Ort so wohl fühlten.
Am nächsten Morgen erwartete uns die Amalfiküste, einer der schönsten Küstenstraßen der Welt. Obwohl das Wetter nicht mit Sonnenschein gesegnet war, haben uns Orte wie Amalfi, wo wir zum Mittagessen einkehrten, mit seiner Schönheit, dem eleganten Dom und den engen Gassen verzaubert.
Die traumhafte Insel Capri darf in keinem Reiseprogramm in diese Region fehlen. Vom Hafen von Sorrent erreichten wir die Insel mit dem Boot. Die Sonne strahlte und mit Minibussen begaben wir uns hinauf nach Anacapri. Aufgrund des Regens am Vortag war die Sicht wunderbar klar und wir fuhren mit dem Sessellift auf den Monte Solaro, von wo man ein atemberaubendes Rundum-Panorama genießen kann.
Nach dem Mittagessen spazierten wir zu den Gärten von Augustus, bestaunten die Faraglioni und die historische Serpentinenpfad Via Krupp. Als Abschluss durfte ein Café an der berühmten Piazzetta nicht fehlen.
Die erstaunliche Geschichte der Ausgrabungen der südlich von Neapel gelegenen, antiken Tempelstadt Paestum wurde am nächsten Vormittag besichtigt.
Im Anschluss erfolgte eine Mittagessen mit Büffelfleisch auf einer authentischen Büffelfarm.
Nach Rückkehr in Sorrent, als keine Überraschungseinlage wurden wir zum Aperitif in den weihnachtlichen Garten der Villa Fiorentino erwartet, wo uns der Präsident der Stiftung empfing um mit uns anzustoßen. Im Anschluss erfreuten unsere Ohren die Stimmen der Opernsänger der Opera in Roma, die uns 1 Stunde zur Begeisterung aller Teilnehmer Ihr Können widergaben. Diese Einlage sollte zeigen, was für eine breite Palette an Möglichkeiten es für Gruppen zu organisieren gibt.
Das gemeinsame Abschlussabendessen fand in einem gehobenen Restaurant in Sorrent statt. Ein Menu mit typischen Gerichten sorgte für das leibliche Wohl und ein Gitarrist mit den bekanntesten italienischen Songs für Stimmung.
Am letzten Tag erfolgte am Vormittag die Führung durch die archäologischen Ausgrabungen der vom Vesuvausbruch vollständig verschütteten antiken Stadt Pompeij.
Das Abschiedsmittagessen wurde bei einem Bio-Weinbauer an den Hängen vom Vesuv eingenommen. Der Wein und das Gemüse aus der vulkanischen Erde, reich an Mineralien, schmeckt besonders gut.
Eine erfolgreiche, erlebnisreiche Kurzreise ging zu Ende und für das möchten wir uns bei allen Mitwirkenden bedanken.

Report on the Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce Incentive trip to the Sorrentine Peninsula.
Michelangelo was delighted to provide local operational support to President Josef Weiermair , CEO of Weiermair Travel, who organised the annual incentive trip of the Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce’s Coach, Air and Ship Division, which took place between December 2-6 2017.
Participation in the event was limited exclusively to members from that division, and acts as a Fam Trip, providing participants with the opportunity to get to know a new destination, in order to sell it more effectively. Furthermore the trip offered everyone the chance to network in an informal setting and to swap ideas.

Michelangelo was represented by Claudio Peluso, Head of Contract & Product in the region, and was ably supported by Astrid Schilcher from our Sales and Marketing Department. They were on hand to offer local assistance to ensure everything went smoothly for the 46 participants. They were also able to answer any questions that they might have and provide information for future group travel plans.
After arrival at Naples Airport in the late morning, the group was taken by coach to the town centre accompanied by our local representative Antonio. We took lunch in a characteristic Neapolitan restaurant located close to the world famous Teatro San Carlo, where we enjoyed a typical local pasta dish with cherry tomatoes from Mt Vesuvius and belly bacon from Caserta, which was prepared before our eyes by the chef, assisted by President Weiermair.
Our bellies full, we undertook a short tour of the Old Town through the Galerie Umberto shopping arcade with its large glass dome, past the pizzeria where the famous Pizza Margharita was invented, to the largest square of the town the Piazza Plebiscito, where the Royal Palace is located.
After this excursion into the history of the city beneath Vesuvius, we continued on to the Hotel Antiche Mura in the centre of Sorrento. This traditional resort has already been the summer home of choice for many famous people, including Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Charles Dickens and many others besides. An evening stroll shows exactly why they felt so at home in this place.
The glorious Amalfi Coast awaited us on the next day, offering one of the most attractive sections of coast road to be found anywhere in the world. Although the weather gods chose not to bless us with sunshine today, resorts like Amalfi, where we took lunch, captivated everyone with the beauty of its elegant Cathedral and its narrow streets.
A trip to this area would not be complete without taking in the gorgeous island of Capri. We took a boat from Sorrento’s harbour to the island. Sunshine finally greeted us as we made our way up by minibus to Anacapri. The morning’s rainful made the views crystal clear, and we took the chairlift up Monte Solaro, where we could appreciate fully the exquisite 360 degree panorama.
After lunch we walked to the Augustus Gardens where we admired the famous cliffs and the historical winding road the Via Krupp. We then took a break in a cafe on the famous Piazetta.
The next day the incredible archaeological excavations of the ancient temple town of Paestum located south of Naples provided a unique historical insight. After our visit we enjoyed a lunch of buffalo meat in a genuine buffalo farm.
After our return to Sorrento everyone enjoyed a surprise aperitif with the President in the Christmas Garden of the Villa Fiorentina. Thereafter we were treated to an hour-long performance of the singers of the Roman Opera. This wonderful performance served to demonstrate the wide range of options open to groups travelling to this region.
Our farewell dinner took place in a top quality restaurant in Sorrento. A delicious meal including a selection of regional specialities was accompanied by a guitarist playing the most well known Italian songs ensured an excellent atmosphere for all concerned.
On our last day in the morning we went to visit the ruins of Pompeii, the town which was completely destroyed by the mighty eruption of Mt Vesuvius back in 79 AD.
Our final lunch was taken at an organic winery located on the slopes of Vesuvius. The wine and vegetables produced by the mineral-rich volcanic earth, were particularly tasty.
Our successful and eventful short trip then came to an end and we would like to thank everyone who helped make it happen.
